What Happened to the DB?
Over the last several months, many of you have wandered around the internet searching for the Dispensational Berean, only to find that it was either non-existent or ‘Under Construction’. So what happened? Well, this past February, the Dispensational Berean fell victim to a malicious hacking that ultimately infected and corrupted multiple sites across a single server.
Internet security is a very tough thing to manage in a world where destruction is caused by individuals who wreak havoc for the sheer sake of wreaking havoc. To put our prior situation in layman’s terms, the Dispensational Berean website was essentially like a grocery store whose door was wide open after hours with open access to the safe. All it took was for someone to poke around for a little while and they’d not only get in, but immediately tap into our behind-the-scenes coding and scripts. Let’s just say it was disheartening, but incredibly eye-opening.
Today, the Dispensational Berean is locked up, buttoned up, and secure. Does this mean that we could still have problems in the future? Absolutely. Even a locked-up grocery store can have a window broken and a safe cracked. These are the realities of life. Nevertheless, the Dispensational Berean is under a much more careful eye with concentrated attention on potential security breaches before they get too far out of hand. Guarantees? Surely not. But we’ll do our best to ensure that any future downtime is not so prolonged as this turned out to be.
Please accept my sincerest apologies for the lengthy delay of services and information from the Dispensational Berean. I certainly hope that you are able to find just as much information as you could before (perhaps even more).
